Background

I started my career on the shop floor as an apprentice toolmaker.  I later attained a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Penn State while working full-time.  My early career included roles as a Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Engineer for Textron, ITT & Frito-Lay.  After learning the power of kaizen and 3P from Shingijutsu Sensei, I was inspired to pursue a career in Operational Excellence.  Over the past 20 years, I have progressed through various roles as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Global Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and Operational Excellence Champion.

In 2015, I led a company-wide Enterprise Excellence transformation using a principle-based approach aligned to the Shingo Model. I have worked in a variety of sectors, including Aerospace, Chemicals, Plastics, Medical Devices, Industrials, and Semiconductors industries. Over the past 20 years, I trained and coached over 1,700 people in Lean Six Sigma and certified 340 Green Belts, Black Belts & Lean Masters.  My work with employers and clients has generated breakthrough results in performance with sustained success providing over $51 million in profit.

I’m a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Lean Master and earned an M.S. in Manufacturing Management and Leadership from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).  I’m a member of ASQ, SME, and a board member for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).

Outside work

Married with one son.  We live in Manheim Township near Lancaster, Pennsylvania about 60 miles west of Philadelphia.  While Lancaster is well known for the Amish community, we enjoy visiting the city’s rich culture, history and award-winning restaurants.  Having easy access to Amtrak we often head to NYC, Philly and DC for a weekend get away.  We are also outdoor enthusiasts and regularly visit the north central Pennsylvania wilds.  Locally we enjoy the biking, hiking and walking trails.  I am an avid ATV Adventurer logging over 10,000 miles of off-the-grid trails in several states across the US.
