We would like to congratulate Cardiff University and clients, Panalpina as they are included as an industry ’best practice’ in the National Centre for Universities and Business 2017 State of Relationship report about university and business.
Our client, Panalpina, is one of the world’s leading providers of supply chain solutions. Panalpina combines air freight and logistics to deliver tailor-made end-to-end solutions. The company sought a hidden formula solution for lean inventories to enable them to buy and manage customer inventories and offer a unique logistics service to clients.
The partnership between Cardiff University and Panalpina has been strengthened with the launch of a new Logistics Manufacturing Research Centre. Mike Wilson, global head of Logistics at Panalpina, said about the relationship with Cardiff University:
“Over the last four years of working with Cardiff Business School, we have been able to jointly identify future manufacturing and supply chain trends, and build our business in anticipation of this changing environment. Looking ahead, the insight provided by the research centre will allow Panalpina to better design our customers’ manufacturing and supply chain strategies with new technologies and macro-economic forecasts in mind.”
