Lean Practitioner (LCS 1b) 4 Day Workshop

The aim of this 4 day programme at Laser Central in Dara, is to equip those involved in improvement activities with the knowledge and skills to participate fully and effectively.

This small group workshop is delivered in 2 sessions to enable you  to apply some of the tools and techniques you will learn about between the sessions.

Session 1: (Day 1 & 2): 29-30 April 2020

Session 2: (Day 3 & 4) 26-27 May 2020

The workshop comprises presentations, practical examples  and interactive exercises.You will also take part in a fun interactive simulation and a work based improvement project.

Session 1: Days 1 and 2 Lean Principles and Learn to See

  • The principles of Lean thinking,
  • Customer value & foundat ionof Lean.
  • Change management and visual management system.
  • Value st ream mapping techniques and finding meaningful improvement opportunities.

 

Session 2: Days 3 and 4   Tools and Techniques

  • Practical problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Overview and selection of Lean tools that improve workflow.
  • Work-based Improvement Project

Host Site Information

Laser Central is a 100% Australian, family-owned metal processing company based in Darra, Brisbane, Australia. Laser Central provides premium services for flat and tubular metal products, offering laser cutting and finishing services across the board. They are committed to be the Number One metal processing partners for all their clients. Delegates will have opportunities to visit the facility and participate in a “Learning by Doing“ session at the host site.
Certification

This workshop is the second in a series of accredited training programmes aligned with Cardiff University’s Lean Competency System. Delegates who successfully complete the programme will receive a Certificate awarded by the University.

  • Diagnose issues in a process using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Implement permanent solutions that resolve the root cause issues and prevent re-occurrence of the problem

  • Understand practical approaches to delivering employee engagement and sustainable improvement

This workshop will be of interest to Managers, Team Leaders, Change Agents and individuals responsible for carrying out business improvement activities.

This is the second in a series of accredited training programmes aligned with Cardiff University’s Lean Competency System. As well as conventional classroom teaching you will be mentored through a work based project sponsored by your employer. If you successfully complete the program you will receive a certificate awarded by the University .

The program has also been awarded 28 hours CPD credits.
