Jon has spent over 30 years in manufacturing, and over 20 in operational excellence, working for global FTSE 100 companies designing and operationalising continuous improvement strategies.
His career began in operational management for the Siebe organisation (to become Invensys Plc), a provider of world class power supply solutions for blue chip companies such as BT, Siemens, Philips and Raytheon.
At Siebe in 1996 he embarked on the journey of implementing Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise, having responsibility of leading its Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across the Power Systems division in regions as diverse as Mexico, Malaysia and China, the US and Europe.
Jon then moved to global consumer packaging company, Rexam, in 2001, leading the deployment of Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma across (then) more than 100 plants worldwide, and in 2011 started the programme of moving Rexam forward towards the Shingo Prize, where Rexam now has accreditation for 12 sites including three Shingo Prizes.
The global lean programme at Rexam has delivered more than £330 million in efficiency savings since 2004 and continues to push forward with an intense philosophy of “Zero Loss” to ensure its current international manufacturing base of more than 50 beverage can making plants operate at world class levels of safety, quality and efficiency.
In the last 8 years Jon’s work has included supporting the product innovation pipeline for Rexam and developing a continuous improvement focus to advance their global Health and Safety programme. More recently he led the early development and adoption of a sustainability strategy across the Rexam business before returning in 2010 to refocus the organisation on its continuous improvement and Lean Enterprise aims.
He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt covering both Operational Black Belt and Design for Six Sigma.
Jon is married with two children, and lives in the South of England near to Brighton.
