As part of our ongoing work in the construction sector, S A Partners have recently been approved as a Lean Construction Ireland (LCi) commended Lean Service Provider.
Lean Construction Ireland is an all-island, independent, and voluntary not-for-profit association whose members passionately believe that Lean Thinking & Practices can enable and sustain enhanced effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and profitability for the Irish Construction Sector, Clients, and Supply Chain.
Their objectives are as follows:
S A Partners are often viewed by our clients as ‘Lean disruptors’, or ‘constructive agitators’. We bring deep thinking and deep application to our interventions. Leadership teams can find this challenging. But we don’t just stick boards on the wall, ‘do projects’ or ‘sheep dip training’.
The term ‘lean construction‘ is an adaptation of lean production techniques applied to the construction industry. Very broadly it can be characterised as techniques aimed at maximising value and minimising waste.
The construction industry in general has performed in a way that is thought to be wasteful compared to other industries, and there is a general consensus that it does not deliver good value for its clients. In part this is due to the unusual nature of construction, where, unlike a production line, each building is a one off. But in addition, the nature of contracting arrangements means that it can be adversarial, with significant potential for disputes.
Our approach is to define core systems and behaviours that enable sustainable excellence. We enable commitment over compliance and by doing so affect real lasting culture change within a business resulting direct positive benefits to the bottom line.
We are already bringing our philosophy forward within our construction client portfolio and we look forward to sharing our approach with you
