Would You Like to Learn Faster Than Your Opposition?

If yes then the Lean and Sustainable Consortium provides the platform to do this. Being a member of the Lean and Sustainable Consortium will enable organisations to share and experience some of the best CI practices that have been developed to-date, and has allowed members to visit various award winning member-sites and learn how others have developed and implemented their CI road maps.

Last March, the Lean and Sustainable Consortium visited Vaillant, an award winning factory at the forefront of sustainability and continuous improvement.

View the consortium video:

They viewed improvement techniques and environmental practises that is helping to make Vaillant one of the leading manufacturers in their field. One of the highlights of the exchange is how Vaillant are using cutting edge technology combined with operating practices that is reducing lead times significantly, thus improving customer service and reducing manufacturing costs.

We are unable to publish the outcome of the GEMBA exchange, but group members took away with them many value adding ideas to use in their own organisations. The next GEMBA exchange is on May 26th in London and we will be publishing more details in the coming week or so.

Want to attend the next GEMBA, or find out more?

There are just 2 places left for potential group members. If you would like to be involved or find out more, just fill in the form below and we will email you more details.

Dr Chris Thomson, Refinery Manager at Vale, Swansea writes:

Being members of the Lean and Green Consortium has enabled us to share some of the best practices we have developed in our CI journey to-date, and has allowed us to visit various member-sites and learn how others have developed and implemented their CI roadmaps.

Whilst understanding that one-size doesn’t fit all, building relationships with the members enables open discussions to take place that add value in terms of finding suitable approaches to your local issues. It is fairly typical to visit sites and hear about the positives, but much of the real learning is in digging deep into how people have dealt with issues that did not go smoothly; developing relationships is key to this, and the Consortium facilitates strong relationship building, and in our view this is where the true value lies.
