Protecting Our Planet Can Be Lucrative

S A Partners have been advising our client base for some time now that combining their lean and green initiatives will reap them substantial financial benefits. However, shifting deeply engrained beliefs that ‘going green is going to cost’ is no mean feat. For those who remain unconvinced, check out this article which describes some of the innovative progress General Motors have made in this area. GM has extended their enterprise to include a partnership arrangement with Blue Star Steel so that everyone benefits: GM maximizes the value of that leftover material; Blue Star Steel saves money buying scrap steel; and, the environment is spared additional greenhouse gas emissions from a foundry. Getting to the point where green is lucrative did require a bit of a ‘leap of faith’ on GMs part but doing the right thing for our planet has paid off big time. Music to our ears!
