Shingo Discover Excellence Feedback

NESTLE WORKSHOP, ACCOLADE WINES WORKSHOP

‘A terrific experience’ and ‘an extremely informative 2 days’ are some of the feedback comments after the recent Shingo Discover Excellence workshop at Medallion Winners Vale in Swansea, Wales. Stephen Derwin of Boston Scientific commented “can I say it was an excellent experience and thanks to SA Partners and Vale for a great two days“. A big thank you goes to all at Vale for the warm welcome provided, and the excellent source of information which allowed the participants to take away with them a valued learning experience which can be applied into the work place. The next Shingo Discover Excellence workshop will be held at various locations.

Day 1 of the workshop set out by asking the question ‘How do you define enterprise excellence’ and moved onto the three insights of Enterprise Excellence. The participants were then split into groups who then carried out a site tour. Participants had a choice of which departments they were particularly interested in visiting. Here they were able to witness at first hand how processes and behaviours filtered through all levels of the organisation by asking questions and getting feedback from employees via a questionnaire. Once complete they then returned and discussed their findings with the main group so all feedback could be compared.

The Shingo Discover Excellence workshop teaches participants the following:

  • LEARN and understand the Shingo Model.
  • DISCOVER and Three Insights of Enterprise Excellence.
  • EXPLORE how the Guiding Principles inform ideal behaviours that ultimately lead to sustainable results.
  • UNDERSTAND the behavioural assessment process through an interactive case study and on-site learning.
  • APPLY your learning with a call to action.

On Day 2, The participants spent most of the day out into the workplace for another GEMBA, this time visiting alternative departments using the following criteria:
