The global Aerospace and Defence sector is moving towards a state of growth once again. Analysts suggest that this is based upon an increase in demand for international travel, new technologies entering the market place, increased aircraft production, openings in defence budgets and the knock on effect to the global supply chain.
S A Partners work with a number of high profile Aerospace and Defence companies.
A new case study from Airbus (Asia Pacific Region – AGAP) demonstrates the early successes for the business to date resulting from an integrated programme of Lean Leadership, capability development strategy using the Cardiff University Lean Competency System and a Continuous Improvement strategy measured through the deployment of Lean Maturity Assessments.
Mick Moreton, Partner and accredited Leadership trainer and facilitator has worked in the Aerospace and Defence sector for a number of years, before and since joining S A Partners as a Consultant in 2010. Mick’s work has helped clients to create flow and reduction in lead time with Depth Maintenance for Apache Helicopters along with a financial saving of around £4m. He also carried out a study and developed flow processes, standard work and flexible manpower systems with USAF Hercules aircraft maintenance. On another assignment he delivered value stream analysis and quick changeover (turnaround) for military forces upon returning from missions to next deployment. Mick also provided support to Airborne logistics in the creation of ‘fast’ supply to troops in theatre.
