At its Centre of Business Excellence, the team is redefining what’s possible through world-first engineering innovations, driven by a can-do attitude, deep collaboration, and determination to succeed.
The facility acts as a hub for both people development and rapid technical problem solving. With a multi-disciplinary team covering most aspects of engineering on the Sellafield site, the Centre specialises in:
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
- Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Robotics
- Low Voltage Electrical Solutions
- Control Systems & Condition Monitoring
- Radiometrics
- Civil Engineering
During the visit, delegates will gain insight into how the Centre introduces innovation, rapidly develops bespoke solutions, and collaborates with both the Sellafield site teams and its wider supply chain to deliver lasting impact.
Speaking about the new partnership, Craig Branney, Head of the Centre of Business Excellence, said:
“We are proud to be joining the Onsite Insights programme and to share our approach to innovation in a sector where the stakes are high and the challenges are complex. Our mission is to show what’s possible when diverse expertise, creativity, and determination come together.”
Onsite Insights Director Ailsa Carson added:

About Onsite Insights
Onsite Insights was established in 1985 by the Department of Trade and Industry and became a commercial venture in 2004. Its mission is to encourage the sharing of innovation and best practice between organisations through a series of one-day visits to high-performing sites.
Since its inception, the programme has supported over 150,000 people to improve how they work and to drive excellence within their own organisations. Unlike theory or textbooks, this unique industry benchmarking programme allows participants to see first-hand what is possible — learning directly from companies about what works, why it works, and how it can be applied elsewhere.
