Total Productive Manufacturing
Often abbreviated as ‘TPM’ and also known as Total Productive Manufacturing, or Total Preventative Maintenance – TPM is a system that unlocks the capability of people and machinery. Great TPM will provide a framework where physical assets are introduced, managed and retired with a plan for their full lifecycle. One of the primary drivers for TPM is to improve the reliability of equipment and therefore the company.
TPM is about establishing the correct relationship between people and their equipment in order to create ownership. It is also about unlocking our productive capacity by unlocking the potential of people. TPM is also about improving flow through the use of appropriate Lean tools & techniques.
