What We Did

S A Partners supported Airbus by guiding their leadership team and top management through the Lean Leadership program. We collaborated closely to implement the process for formal accreditation of the improvement program through Cardiff University's Lean Competency System (LCS). By building an accredited program, we empowered the Airbus team to develop and sustain continuous improvement practices. S A Partners became a key partner in the ongoing development of Airbus Pacific Group's Lean system.

Results

The accredited program successfully built capability within the Airbus team, leading to a sustainable improvement program. The results were evident not only at the financial level, with significant cost savings and avoidance, but also in enhanced operational performance, such as increased availability of the RAAF's C-130J aircraft fleet and a drastic reduction in failed demands within the MRH90 Supply Chain Improvement Program. Additionally, the program led to increased employee engagement. These improvements enabled the company to thrive and achieve long-term success

Numerical Results:

  • $44.2 million in direct savings from MRH90 customer ownership cost reduction.
  • $18.2 million in annual cost avoidance for repairable aircraft item serviceability.
  • 94% reduction in failed demands from the MRH90 Supply Chain Improvement Program
